Vaspol Ruamviboonsuk is a fourth year Ph.D. student in the Computer Science and Engineering department at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he is advised by Professor Harsha V. Madhyastha. His research is focused on improving mobile web performance, i.e., speeding up web page loads on smartphones and tablets connected to cellular networks. Since publishing Vroom, he has been collaborating with multiple teams at Google on this topic. Prior to joining the Ph.D. program, he completed his B.S. with Distinction in Computer Science at the University of Washington. He is a recipient of the Mary Gates Undergraduate Research Scholarship during the 2012-13 academic year.
